what kind of curriculum will help in a daycare of kids ages one to three?
my mom has a daycare and everyone is helping her build it up. my job is to find a nice easy schedule for the babies for each day and im having trouble because we want them to enjoy their time here and grow educationally but not shove it onto them because there are still babies. any suggestions.
As for a curriculum, getting to know the children will help. You’ll learn what they already know, and will be able to build off that.
I would put a weekly lesson plan together:
The child will (TCW) study animals on the farm.
TCW listen to (BOOK).
TCW sign Old McDonald
Etc…
The web page below has more ideas/themes to teach.
As for a schedule: I’ve had luck using the follow with children, ranging in age from 9 months to 24 months.
8:00 Breakfast/morning snack
8:30 clean-up and diapers/ free play (Children choose an activity) for children
9:00 circle time (read any books, sing songs…)
9:30 outside time
10:00 Art
10:30 clean-up and diapers/free play
11:00 Lunch
11:30 clean-up/nap time prep.
11:45 nap time
1:45 wake-up/diapers
2:00 snack
2:30 outside time
3:00 circle time
3:30 diapers/free play
4:00 free play until parents pick-up.
5:30 diapers
